(COLORADO) — Starting January 1, 2025., Humana will remove CommonSpirit hospitals, doctors, and services in Colorado from its network for Medicare Advantage.
The expiration of CommonSpirit services for Medicare Advantage patients would affect hospitals like Saint Francis and Penrose Hospitals in Colorado Springs, Saint Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, and Saint Thomas More Hospital in Cañon City.
If an individual is enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan and seeks care at a CommonSpirit provider other than in an emergency room, out-of-pocket costs will be higher starting Jan. 1.
Individuals who are a part of Medicare Advantage during the annual enrollment period may shift to a different Medicare Advantage plan during the enrollment period between Jan. 1 and March 1, 2025.
FOX21 News has reached out to find out how many patients in Southern Colorado would be affected and will update this article with more information when it becomes available.
