(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a disturbance near Templeton Gap Road and North Powers Boulevard a little after midnight on New Year’s Day, and discovered a woman who had died from a gunshot wound.

According to CSPD, officers arrived at the scene in the 5800 block of Oakwood Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, after reports that a person had been shot and found a woman who had died after being hit by at least one gunshot. Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded and took over the investigation.

CSPD said that at this time, it appears that everyone involved in the incident is known to each other, however, no suspect is in custody.
