(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested an alleged fugitive from justice after police were called to a potential overdose.

CSPD said on Wednesday, Feb. 19, officers were called to the 1400 block of Harrison Road near Lake Avenue and East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard about a possible overdose. Before police arrived, however, the patient, identified as Matthew Gaudreau, woke up and left the area.

CSPD officers learned Gaudreau was a fugitive with active felony warrants, which caused a strong police presence to remain on scene for several hours. Gaudreau later returned to the area and was taken into custody without incident.
