Arrest made in shooting death at King Soopers gas station

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A man has been arrested in the shooting death of a man at the gas station of an east Colorado Springs King Soopers.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a suspect has been taken into custody in connection to the shooting death of 32-year-old Tyray Ikener on the afternoon of Jan. 20.

Officers originally responded to the gas station in the 5800 block of Stetson Hills Boulevard shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Ikener dead of at least one gunshot wound inside a car near one of the gas pumps. Ikener’s death is being investigated as a homicide, CSPD said.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, the CSPD Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force (VOTF) and Tactical Enforcement Unit arrested 34-year-old Dustin Boston on first degree murder charges. Boston was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and is due in El Paso County Court on Feb. 27.
