DENVER (KDVR) — A man who created the Denver International Airport’s iconic white tents is now selling his home that he designed for millions of dollars.
James Bradburn built the white tents that make up the roof of the airport. They cover about 240,000 square feet, which is big enough to cover more than four football fields. DIA told FOX31 the tents were made to resemble the snow-capped Rocky Mountains and Native American teepees as a way to pay homage to the environment and history of Colorado.
Bradburn was known for building DIA’s white tents in the 1990s, but he continued designing buildings around Colorado into his retirement. Bradburn designed his retirement home, which lies in Colorado’s Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and now, it’s up for sale.

While there isn’t any white tents like the airport, according to LIV Sotheby’s International Realty’s listing, the house comes with unique features like a university-grade observatory with 17-inch telescope, subterranean greenhouse, European-style labyrinth and a meditation chapel.
The house, accompanied by a guest house, lies on 411 acres bordered by the State of Colorado’s School Trust and Cody Park Open Space.
On the outside, the listing said it’s designed with materials like New Mexico sandstone, metal roofing, limestone tile and hand finished plaster walls. On the inside, there’s a total of six beds and five bathrooms on the property.
The house, which is just north of Westcliffe, is going for $6 million.
