(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Dublin Boulevard Improvements project is starting on Tuesday, April 22, and overnight closures are expected.
The City of Colorado Springs said road work on Dublin Blvd. from Black Forest Road/Shimmering Creek Drive to Peterson Road is starting on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. and running overnight into Wednesday, April 23, at 5:30 a.m., along with another overnight closure on Wednesday at 7 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24.
According to the City, the signed detour route will direct through traffic on Dublin Blvd. onto Tutt Boulevard, Stetson Hills Boulevard, and Peterson Road. Local access will be provided between Tutt Blvd. and Black Forest Rd./Simmering Creek Dr.
Once traffic moves to the new alignment on the road’s south side, crews will start working near Sand Creek.
The Dublin Boulevard Improvements project zone is from Fieler Drive to Marksheffel Road. The project will expand Dublin Blvd. from a two-lane road to two lanes in each direction with shoulders. A raised median will be built to match the other sections of Dublin Boulevard. The City said additional improvements include a multi-use path along both sides of the street, trail connections along Sand Creek, and a new traffic signal at Issaquah Drive, along with drainage upgrades including storm sewer pipes, inlets, and water quality structures.
The project is expected to be finished by late 2026, however, construction is weather-dependent and is subject to change. For up-to-date information on road closures and traffic pattern changes, text DUBLIN to 866-762-3640 for text alerts.
