(CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo.) — Donkey Derby Days took off in Cripple creek on Saturday, June 28, as people from near and far visited the small Southern Colorado city to see the world-famous Cripple Creek donkeys.
The festival is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Two Mile High Club, and the money raised goes toward the care of the donkeys.
“We had a flyover this morning, we have the parade, we’ve got a lot of vendors out here, we’ve got donkeys, donkey races, a beer garden, everything’s going on today,” said Dale McKenzie, Volunteer with the Two Mile High Club. “So come out and join us.”

Fox 21 News participated in this year’s media race, with anchors Rachel Saurer and Austin Sack trotting away with the first-place trophy. But the true MVP was the four-legged legend, Mojo the donkey, who carried Austin and Rachel to victory with style and sass.
The Two Mile High Club put on another unforgettable year of fun. The celebration continued on Sunday, June 29, with live music, local crafts, family fun, and even more donkey races.
