(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Saturday, July 19, Pikes Peak United Way is holding its annual free Community Block Party, providing free backpacks, school supplies, and community connection.
The event on Saturday will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pikes Peak United Way Family Success Center, located at 1520 Verde Drive. Pikes Peak United Way said the event will feature over 40 vendors, and a wide range of services will be available, including free back-to-school vaccinations.
The Colorado Springs Police Department will host a car seat installation booth for families. Other resources include information about activities, family, and senior support.
“Every student deserves to head back to the classroom as prepared as possible,” said Cami Bremer, president and CEO of Pikes Peak United Way. “This is also a fantastic way to bring the community together and celebrate the end of summer along with the upcoming school year.”
Backpacks and other school supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, provided by B-COS We Care, Harrison School District 2, Navy Federal Credit Union, Colorado Springs Imaging, and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Associates.
