(COLORADO SPRINGS) — O’Donnell & O’Donnell, in partnership with the City of Colorado Springs, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Colorado Springs Chamber and EDC, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and the ANA Money Museum, are holding inaugural Veterans Week celebrations.
According to O’Donnell & O’Donnell, Veterans Week will be a series of community events to honor and recognize the roughly 95,000 men and women living in the Pikes Peak Region who have served or are currently serving in the nation’s armed forces.
Organizers said spanning from Nov. 1 to Nov. 11, Veterans Week will feature events including:
Air Force vs Army Football Game on Saturday, Nov. 1
Purple Heart Exhibit on Friday, Nov. 7
Held at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the event will showcase original artwork used in the design and engraving of the Purple Heart medal. The special one-day exhibit includes historic medals from the Revolutionary War and the American Civil War, along with 150 additional Department of Defense medals and decorations.
In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade
Revived last year from a sudden cancellation, the parade returns for 2025 on Saturday, Nov. 8
Veterans Day Wreath Laying Ceremony and Observance
Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Memorial Park. Members of the American Legion Post #5, the Marine Corps League, and other veterans groups will lay wreaths at monuments dedicated to individual branches of the military
Organizers also hope to transform downtown Colorado Springs into a powerful tribute during Veterans Week with thousands of American flags to stand in honor of Veterans, Retired Military, and Active-Duty service members. The public and local businesses are encouraged to buy an 8″ x 12″ American Flag, which will carry an honoree’s name, branch, and service details.
Each flag will cost $25 and will be on display from Nov. 1 to Nov. 11, with all proceeds benefiting the In Their Honor Veterans Day Parade.
