All students safe, police say bomb threat “not credible” at The Colorado Springs School

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — All students are safe, and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating after The Colorado Springs School received a bomb threat on Friday morning, Oct. 10, which the police department has since deemed not credible.

CSPD responded to the school located at 21 Broadmoor Avenue just after 8:15 on Friday morning and continues to investigate where the threat came from.

Director of Communications and Marketing for The Colorado Springs School, Marie Newbrough, said that all students are safe and the school has enacted an early dismissal for Friday in response to the threat.

According to CSPD, “So far in our investigation, there are zero credible elements to the threat.”

“Our priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of every student and staff member. We are working closely with local law enforcement, and the campus has been smoothly evacuated while authorities check every building to ensure safety. We have followed all the necessary steps to ensure this happens,” said Director Newbrough.

The Colorado Springs School is an independent day school that educates students from Prekindergarten through 12th grade.
