(PUEBLO WEST, Colo.) — A woman has been arrested in the death of a man who was found shot in a crashed SUV in Pueblo West in August of 2023.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), 33-year-old Loren Casados was arrested on Friday, April 12, in connection to the murder of 32-year-old Larry Derrick Maes. Maes was found in a crashed car on Tenderfoot Lane in Pueblo West around 8 p.m. on Aug. 4, 2023.

His death was initially investigated as suspicious, until the Pueblo County Coroner determined that Maes had died of a gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a homicide.

PCSO said a no-bond warrant for Second Degree Murder was issued for Casados after detectives identified her as a suspect. She was taken into custody with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.

Casados has been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
