(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Famous Dave’s is bringing back its nationwide search for the best pitmasters with a stop in Colorado Springs on Saturday, June 15.
According to Famous Dave’s, the second annual All-Star BBQ Series in partnership with World Food Championships is coming to Colorado Springs where local pitmasters will face off in multi-category cookoffs at the Famous Dave’s located at 5245 North Academy Boulevard.
The Famous Dave’s All-Star BBQ Series kicked off on Saturday, May 18 in Union Gap, Washington. This year the categories for competition are chicken, ribs, and wild card which means competitors can be creative and submit any barbecue dish they want.
Pitmasters are competing for a $1,000 Grand Champion prize, $400 Reserve Grand prize, and $500, $400, and $300 payouts for first, second, and third finishes in each category. Teams that win the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand prizes will be given a golden ticket to compete at the World Food Championships in Indianapolis for a prize that exceeds $300,000.
Guests can come to the Colorado Springs location on Saturday, June 15, and taste and vote for free wings cooked by the competitors, free barbecue and Kurvball Original Barbecue Whiskey samples, and pick up commemorative merchandise.
