BBQ contest and fundraiser in Divide on Aug. 18

(DIVIDE, Colo.) — The annual Smokin’ the Ute Pass Summit BBQ contest & fundraiser is happening on Sunday, Aug. 18, and FOX21’s own evening anchor Scott Killbury will join the team of 12 judges.

The team of judges will taste-test different categories of meats, including brisket, pork butt, chicken, side dishes, BBQ sauce, and an open class for unique meats like bear or salmon. Also new this year will be a judged category for desserts!

Twelve teams will be competing, and organizers say the majority of them are amateur backyard barbecue enthusiasts, with a few food truck owners in the mix.
