(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An event to help raise funds for nature education programs and camp scholarships will be held on Friday, Aug. 9 according to El Paso County Parks & Community Services.

The 15th Happy Trails BBQ Fundraiser will be held at Bear Creek Nature Center located at 245 Bear Creek Road on Friday. The event will feature Buffalo Gals Catering’s signature Santa Maria-style Tri-Tip, wine, beer and spirits, and desserts from local businesses. The event will also have live music by the Manitou Strings, entertainment, and an art sale.

Proceeds will go towards Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers’ education programs and nature camp scholarships. Camp and program scholarships provide opportunities for program participation regardless of someone’s ability to pay. The programs also increase accessibility by giving participants the ability to travel in all-terrain Terrain Hopper vehicles at no cost.

Tickets to the BBQ are $50 per person or $300 for a six-person table.
