(COLORADO) — Are you ready for the next supermoon? The Beaver Moon is set to appear in the Colorado sky on Nov. 5.
Set your sights to the sky on Wednesday morning when it will reach its full peak at 6:19 a.m. But don’t worry if you miss it, you can still view it Wednesday evening as well when the moon will still appear bright in the sky.
The Beaver Moon gets its name from the time of year beavers prepare their dams for winter. This year the Beaver supermoon will be the closest full Moon to Earth since 2019, appearing up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than usual.
According to analysis from The Action Network, Colorado ranks third in the US for clear supermoon viewing, powered by its mile-high elevation, dry fall air and exceptional dark-sky access. So far, the forecast for both Wednesday morning and evening look perfect for moon gazing.
