DENVER (KDVR) — Well … he had a good run.
Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton will step away from the team in March 2026, but don’t worry, it’s only for a moment of fun.
Payton is joining a crew of some of the highest-profile football coaches and players for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in Saudi Arabia, Fanatics announced in a press release on Monday afternoon.
The event is even pulling football GOAT Tom Brady out of retirement for a game or two. Payton and Brady will be joined by some of the biggest names in the NFL, including:

Saquon Barkley, RB: Philadelphia Eagles
Christian McCaffrey, RB: San Francisco 49ers
Myles Garrett, DE: Cleveland Browns
Brock Bowers, TE: Las Vegas Raiders
Maxx Crosby, DE: Las Vegas Raiders
CeeDee Lamb, WR: Dallas Cowboys
Tyreek Hill, WR: Miami Dolphins
Sauce Gardner, CB: New York Jets
Odell Beckham Jr., WR: Free agent
Tom Brady, QB: Retired
Rob Gronkowski, TE: Retired
Coaches

Each coach will take charge of a team during the event, but it has not yet been reported on who will be in charge of which players, as well as the total number of, and who the remaining players are. Fanatics said that players can be athletes from different sports or even celebrities.
The games are being put on by Fanatic in partnership with several production companies, including FOX Sports, Brady’s Shadow Lion, OBB Media and the state-backed Riyadh Season, which has hosted similar events for other sports like soccer, basketball, E-sports and motor sports.
Tens of millions of visitors have attended the events over the years. The games will be played with the Olympic-style flag football rules.
Comedian Kevin Hart will supply laughs and play-by-play action as the games’ official commentator.
Fanatics said the event will be held on March 21, 2026.
