(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — A new family-owned restaurant is coming to Fountain and establishing its fifth location in the heart of the city.
The Fountain Urban Renewal Authority (FURA) announced on Wednesday, Feb. 26, that Sonora’s Prime Carniceria and Taco Shop will be located on the ground floor at 102 N. Main Street. The restaurant is set to offer a family-friendly environment with fresh produce, a butcher meats counter, a general store, and a full-service dining restaurant.
According to FURA, the partnership between them and Sonora’s came into focus within the restaurant’s daily commutes along the front range. FURA said Sonora’s service deliveries earned a strong following among military citizens of Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force, and Schriever Space Force, and installation patrons’ requested a nearby location.
“FURA is excited to welcome Sonora’s Prime to our historic, 1905, Woodman Hall property in the epicenter of downtown Fountain, across from City Hall,” said FURA Chairman Bill McMaster. “The family-friendly and affordable Mexican-style restaurant and Mercado store will serve our Fountain community well, as FURA continues its efforts to enhance the town’s offerings and attractiveness to its citizens and neighbors.”
The owners, Jazmine Fletes and Omar Teyechea invest in their local community and take pride in providing an elevated level of customer service by staff, according to FURA.
According to Fletes, the first store opened in 2015 in Pueblo. The family-owned restaurant also has locations in Colorado Springs, Falcon, East Pueblo, and South Pueblo.
The new Fountain restaurant has a tentative grand opening in early 2026.
