(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Carvana Co., a company known for buying and selling used cars online, announced plans on Wednesday, April 23, to open an auction and reconditioning “Megasite” in El Paso County.
According to Carvana, the initiative will bring the company’s Inspection and Reconditioning Center (IRC) capabilities to its existing ADESA wholesale auction location in Fountain, which serves wholesale auto auction customers in the area.
The site spans about 50 acres and has over 4,000 parking spaces, providing enough infrastructure to support both Carvana IRC operations and the continuing ADESA wholesale auction services.
Carvana has begun hiring local team members and expects the expansion to create 100 new entry-level and skilled jobs over time.
With the IRC capabilities at the ADESA site, expanded inventory and selection, plus faster delivery times for customers in the area.
“After many years serving retail and wholesale customers in the Colorado Springs area, we are thrilled to expand our local team and capabilities,” said Brian Boyd, Senior Vice President of Inventory at Carvana. “This integration will bring a wider selection of vehicles with quick shipping times to local retail customers, provide a more robust offering for local wholesale customers, and also create new job opportunities for entry-level and skilled professionals in the local community
