(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation after a body was found in a burning vehicle south of Pueblo overnight on Monday, May 26.
According to CBI, on Monday, just after 1 a.m., a passerby alerted 911 to a car fully engulfed in flames on the west side of the frontage road parallel to I-25 between South Gate and Stem Beach.
The Pueblo Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. Upon further inspection, firefighters found a body inside the vehicle. Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control responded to assist.
CBI was called in to process the scene and has taken the lead in the investigation. The Pueblo County Coroner to determine the cause and manner of death, along with identification of the victim.
