(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — Several arrests and illegal drugs, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, have been taken off the streets as a result of an investigation by members of the Regional Joint Operations Unit of the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Salida Police Department (SPD).
On Aug. 29, the lengthy investigation by the two law enforcement agencies landed arrest warrants for two suspects living in Salida, identified as 19-year-old Joshua Aaron Vaupel and 33-year-old Florentino “Jose” Sillas-Rosales. A search warrant at a Salida home was also secured as part of the investigation and ultimately led to the arrest of 19-year-old Kaysie Michelle Brown.

According to CCSO, during the search of the home, officers and deputies found 9.62 grams of suspected cocaine, 22.89 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 14 fentanyl pills.
Vaupel is facing charges of felony Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor Possession of Fentanyl (less than four grams). Sillas-Rosales is facing charges of felony Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor Possession of Methamphetamine. At the time of Sillas-Rosales’ arrest, he was out on bond for different drug charges. Bond for both Vaupel and Sillas-Rosales has been set at $10,000, cash only.
Brown is facing charges of felony Unlawful Distribution of Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Fentanyl, and is being held on a $5,000 cash/surety bond.
All were booked into the Chaffee County Jail.
