Celebrate National Bison Day at Pueblo Zoo with author event

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — This Saturday, Nov. 1, is National Bison Day, a day to honor the American Bison as well as raise awareness about its conservation and cultural significance. The day is celebrated on the first Saturday in November every year.

The Pueblo Zoo is holding an event to celebrate Saturday featuring author TR Fischer from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Fischer will read her children’s book “Lola is Lost” at the top of every hour.

She and her husband, Neil Fischer, joined FOX21 Morning News on Thursday, Oct. 30, to talk about the event and why bison are an important part of America’s history and the conservation movement.
