Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office: Deputy uncovers stash of illegal drugs in traffic stop

(CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo.) — The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office reported that a traffic stop led to the deputy discovering a stash of illegal drugs in a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of a 20-year-old man on Friday, April 4.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy completed a traffic stop on Highway 24, just outside of Buena Vista, and identified the only person in the vehicle as Clarence Armando Home Gun from Fairplay. After a brief investigation, the deputy took Home Gun into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence.

The sheriff’s office reported that during a search of the vehicle, the deputy found about 20.8 grams of marijuana, 30.4 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, 5.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 3.9 grams of suspected brown heroin, and 6.8 grams of suspected black tar heroin.

Home Gun was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle, Failed to Drive in a Single Lane/Weaving, and Unlawful Distribution of a Schedule I or II Drug. He was taken to the Chaffee County Jail and is being held on a $5,000 bond.
