(COLORADO SPRINGS) — According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Tuesday, July 16, that turned out to be a case of citizen response to a car theft that left one person injured.
CSPD reported that around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the location on Astrozon Boulevard, near South Powers Boulevard, where they found a victim with a stab wound in his hand.
Officers also found three people on the scene, one of whom was armed with a bat, and according to CSPD, officers learned that four people living nearby had interrupted multiple unknown suspects stealing their car. They chased the people who took the car and came across someone they thought was one of the car thieves. One of the four people allegedly stabbed the victim in the hand and another threatened him with the baseball bat.
Officers identified all of the people at the scene, and two arrests were made.
