The following spray grounds, which are free to use, are opening:
Deerfield Hills Spray Ground: Located at the Deerfield Hills Community Center in southeast Colorado Springs, it features more than 50 spray nozzles and 16 spray features. It opens on Sunday, June 1, and will operate 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every other day.
The Watering Hole at Venezia Park: Located at John Venezia Community Park in northeast Colorado Springs, it has more than a dozen water features. It opens on Saturday, May 24, and will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Splash Pad at Panorama Park: Located in Southeast Colorado Springs, the park features water features near a universally accessible playground. The splash pad opens Saturday, May 24, and will operate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Downtown Colorado Springs has two fountains that will both be opening on Saturday, May 24: the Julie Penrose Fountain in America the Beautiful Park, which operates from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and the Uncle Wilbur fountain in Acacia Park, which operates from noon to 6 p.m. daily.
Two public pools open on Saturday, May 24: the Monument Valley pool, located in central Colorado Springs, and the Wilson Ranch pool, located in western Colorado Springs. The pools will be open for daily use, but it is necessary to either purchase a day pass or have a YMCA membership. For more info, click the link above.
Due to concerns about the structural integrity, Portal Pool and the Memorial Park Family Center are closed until further notice.
All pools and fountains may close for the day when the outside temperature is not expected to reach above 65 degrees
Prospect and Quail lakes are open year-round for recreation, including fishing, paddle boarding, swimming, and motorized use. Swimming during designated days in roped-off areas is at your own risk, as there is no lifeguard on duty. Swimming is permitted on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at no cost.
Quail Lake in southwest Colorado Springs offers fishing, non-motorized boating, and paddle boarding, though swimming is not allowed.
