(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) shared some upcoming closures for an I-25 improvement project that started on October 2023.
CDOT said on Monday, Jan. 29 Ellston Street between North Chestnut Street and Sinton Road will be closed for utility work lasting until Friday, Feb. 2. Sinton Trail will remain open with flaggers present to help bicycle traffic.
Later in 2024, on Nov. 27, Sinton Trail will be partially closed, remaining so through late 2024. An alternate route will be made available for trail users, according to CDOT.

The overall project began in October 2023, and CDOT said the growth of the community created a need. The project aims to add acceleration and deceleration lanes to both northbound and southbound I-25 from Garden of the Gods Road to Fillmore Street.
CDOT expects the project to be complete in late November 2025.
