Club Q shooter to be sentenced on federal hate crimes

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The mass shooter who killed five people and injured 22 others at Club Q in November of 2022 will be sentenced on federal charges at a hearing on Tuesday, June 18.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the shooter will be sentenced after they agreed to plead guilty in January to 74 federal counts, including 50 federal hate crimes and 24 firearm violations, in connection to the shooting that injured dozens and took the lives of five people–Daniel Aston, Raymond Green Vance, Kelly Loving, Ashley Paugh, and Derrick Rump.

The shooter could face multiple life sentences, in addition to the five consecutive life sentences already handed down at the state level in June 2023.
