CMZoo welcomes two cute litters of baby skunks

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (CMZoo) announced the addition of new baby skunks to their animal kingdom on Sunday, June 1, when two skunks, Isabel and Padfoot, each gave birth to a litter.

According to CMZoo, the litters, born two weeks apart, each boasted seven kits. The two mommas and the babies all appear to be doing well. The little families will soon join their homes in the loft, but until then, they will only be available for guests to view during training sessions on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

The new little ‘skunklings’ will head to other zoos when they grow into full-sized ‘stinkers,’ where they will represent their wild counterparts and help more people learn to love and appreciate skunks.

CMZoo encourages visitors to celebrate National Skunk Day by stopping by to view the baby skunks on Saturday, June 14, or Sunday, June 15.
