Colorado Eye Institute to host free eye exams Saturday

(SPONSORED) — This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 pm, the Colorado Eye Institute is offering free eye care exams for anyone, specifically for anyone who may not be able to afford eye care otherwise.

No appointment is needed for your free eye care exam; all you have to do is walk into their southern Colorado Springs location at 1 Education Way, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

This is an annual thing that the Colorado Eye Institute has been doing, and every year they say they see more and more people. You can learn more about them from their website here.

Saturday’s eye health screening consists of two parts: An OCT mac, which is a scan of the retina to determine any underlying health concerns. And an Optos, which is a photo of the back of the eye to determine the overall health of the eye.

A limited number of prescription eyeglasses will be given away on a case-by-case basis for those who may not be able to afford them.

If something is discovered that requires follow-up, one of their doctors will discuss this with you to determine the next steps. You will then have the option to schedule an appointment with them to continue your care.
