COLORADO SPRINGS — The Colorado Springs Fire Department is diverting traffic away from the scene of a potential hazmat situation in the area of 2255 E. Las Vegas Street.

Firefighters from the department’s Hazardous Materials Station are investigating a trail of white powder that was spilled onto the road.

Emergency responders have closed the road in both directions while they work to clean the area and identify the substance.
