(COLORADO) — A recent study by Forbes Advisor found that Colorado is one of the top five states with the worst road rage.
Forbes Advisor said its study surveyed 10,000 licensed drivers and rated the states based on nine metrics for most confrontational drivers. According to the study, California ranked number one for most confrontational drivers while Colorado ranked fifth.
The top reasons for feeling road rage, according to the study were; that another driver was driving badly (40%), another driver was driving aggressively (38%) and another driver cut them off (31%).
The survey found that Colorado has the third highest percentage of drivers who reported another driver had left their vehicle to yell at or fight with them at 13%. Colorado was also the fourth highest for drivers who said another driver cut them off on purpose at 46%.
Colorado ranked as having the fourth-highest percentage of drivers who have been blocked from merging or changing lanes at 38.5% and the fifth-highest for drivers who have received rude or offensive gestures from others.
Missouri, Utah, and Oklahoma followed California as states with the worst road rage. More information about Forbes Advisor’s study can be found on its website.
