Colorado Springs community meeting on wildfire preparedness

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — With the wildfires in California top of mind for many in Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is hosting a community meeting on Thursday evening, Feb. 6, to address the public’s questions and concerns regarding the City’s ongoing wildfire risk.

According to CSFD, Thursday’s meeting will take place at its headquarters located at 375 Printers Parkway and will begin at 6:30 p.m. and go until 8 p.m.

“We hear your questions and concerns which is why we’ve decided to hold a community meeting to help educate you and answer your questions regarding wildfire preparedness,” read a CSFD post on Facebook.

At Thursday’s meeting, the fire department will be joined by other public safety representatives along with members from utilities and emergency management, plus emergency notification experts will be on hand to answer any questions.

According to CSFD, the meeting will address questions regarding Colorado Springs’ preparedness for wildfires and how people can better prepare themselves and their homes.
