(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A recent study by LendingTree found that Colorado Springs is fifth for the highest rate of speeders in the United States.
LendingTree said the study found there were 7.92 speeding incidents per 1,000 drivers in Colorado Springs. LendingTree concluded this by analyzing tens of millions of insurance quotes from LendingTree from June 9, 2023, through June 9, 2024. Portland had the highest rate of drivers with 11.61 incidents per 1,000.
LendingTree also learned that Generation Z was the largest speeding generation with 11.87 incidents per 1,000 drivers, Subaru was the only car brand above 7.00 and Honda Civic was the speedest model with 9.90 per 1,000.
Lending Tree also found that Colorado Springs drivers pay on average $2,779.70 a year for auto insurance and speeding tickets raised insurance by roughly $610 per year.
