Colorado Springs woman identified in fatal I-70 crash

The Colorado Springs woman who died in a head-on crash on U.S. Interstate 70 near the Colorado-Utah border has been identified.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office announced on Wednesday that Briana Brink, 32, was driving her car in the wrong direction, which resulted in a collision with another vehicle. She sustained injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her autopsy has been completed, and her death was due to the injuries she received in the collision.

Five people, all out of Thornton, were in the other vehicle that was involved in the crash. They were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
