Community-wide restaurant bingo kicks off in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — There’s a fun new way to support local restaurants in Pueblo. For the next four weeks, you can pick up a Pueblo Restaurant Week Bingo Card, for a chance to win cash and gift cards.

The bingo card could be your ticket to winning $500 in cash and over $800 in local gift cards. All you have to do is get bingo by eating local, and submit your completed card to the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce. You can get boxes marked off on your bingo card by spending $25 dollars or more at one of the participating restaurants.

“I think anything that the city can do to continue to support small businesses, because it’s up and down, so a lot of people don’t make it… So I think it’s wonderful,” said Amber Tozer, the Manager at Do Drop Inn.

Do Drop Inn has been family-owned and operated since 1977. They’re one of 36 businesses participating in Pueblo Restaurant Week Bingo, which is organized by the chamber of commerce.

The chamber said this time of year is typically the slow season, so they created Pueblo Restaurant Week Bingo as a unique way to make sure everyone’s doors stay open.

“This time of year for restaurants has historically been super slow. We actually had several restaurants come to us and say their numbers are down, that just not as many people are coming through,” said Cara Siegel, the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Engagement Coordinator. “So they asked us as well as the Pueblo Historic Arkansas Riverwalk, how we can help them and kind of capitalize on this downtime for them.”

You can pick up one of the bingo cards at the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, 302 N. Santa Fe Ave., or at one of the participating locations. The bingo cards have to be dropped off to the Chamber by Feb. 11.
