Could a Salt Cave solve your breathing woes?

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Inside the Colorado Salt Cave Wellness Center, at 4647 Centennial Boulevard, Rochelle Janecek, the facility’s owner, greets us with a friendly smile and calming disposition.

She leads us to the salt cave. It’s dimly lit and relaxing. “Everything is made out of Himalayan salt. The walls, the ceiling, the floors – you walk in on Himalayan salt.”

Janecek notes that they pump pure sodium chloride into the air. “The air goes deep in the lungs. It really helps clear out and support your respiratory system. So, it’s great for people with allergies, asthma, breathing issues. As the salt lands on people, it’s great for eczema, psoriasis, and skin conditions. Just being in the environment is great for stress and anxiety reduction.”

Janecek opened the business last year. But, it was in 2019 that she found the healing benefits.
“I went specifically looking for it – I have really bad allergies. I was dealing with a lot of family stress. I was looking for a way to destress.”

The Colorado Salt Cave Wellness Center not home to just salt caves. The business also offers red light therapy, infrared saunas, and cold plunges.

On occasion, sound baths are part of this relaxing retreat. “The sound bowls – they have different frequencies. As our practitioners are playing, it can really help the parasympathetic nervous system. It helps calm the nervous system.”
