(COLORADO) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is warning the public that bears are starting to wake up and breaking into vehicles.

CPW shared images from Evergreen of a bear that had broken into a car and torn up the vehicle. CPW is unsure what food attracted the bear to the car, as everything was damaged, including side panels, airbags, and the dashboard.

A CPW officer responded to the scene and let the bear out of the vehicle.
