CSFD knocks down grass fire on Cheyenne Canyon Rd

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) put out a grass fire on South Cheyenne Canyon Road on Saturday, Dec. 28.

According to CSFD, crews responded to the fire around 10 a.m. on Saturday. The fire was around one-fourth acre in size and was spreading quickly, but crews were able to respond to it and put water on the fire promptly. CSFD said Cheyenne Canyon Rd was closed in all directions near Mesa Road as they worked on the fire.

Around 10:15 a.m., CSFD posted that the fire was out and that crews were remaining on the scene for another 30 minutes to mop up the remaining hot spots. There were no injuries or damaged structures.
