(COLORADO SPRINGS) — FOX21 News crew at the scene spoke with CSFD and learned that two cars crashed on Powers, sending one car flying into where the water canal goes under Astrozon Boulevard.

The driver of the car in the drainage system was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. CSFD said that crews will remove the car from the canal at a later time.

A car got stuck in the water drainage system near Astrozon Boulevard and Powers Boulevard on Saturday, April 5, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD).

According to CSFD, around 5:30 p.m., multiple fire crews responded to the scene and rescued a trapped driver from a car stuck in what CSFD described as “a large water drainage.”

Drivers are advised to take caution in the area.
