(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is currently responding to a structure fire in downtown Colorado Springs.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, at around 9:54 a.m., CSPD reported that fire crews were on scene working a structure fire at 8 Nevada Avenue, off Pikes Peak Avenue. According to CSFD, crews are currently battling a fire in the basement of The Mining Exchange hotel.

All of southbound Nevada Ave between Pikes Peak and Colorado is closed. Individuals are asked to avoid the area while crews work.
