CSP expands aid for victims of vehicle theft

(COLORADO) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) announced the expansion of grant funding to assist victims of vehicle or catalytic converter thefts.

Victims of auto theft may be eligible to receive funding to offset some of the costs connected to those crimes. The program was created to help with the secondary costs of car theft and CSP said has since been expanded to include the following services:

Temporary alternate transportation

Public transportation

Ride-share services

Rental vehicle services

Cleaning and sanitation fees

Towing and storage fees

Vehicle repair reimbursement for repairs directly related to the vehicle theft

Stipend to help offset replacement costs of a stolen catalytic converter

Other potential goods and services directly involved in secondary vehicle theft expenses
