(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating after a 23-year-old man was hit on I-25 near Fountain just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16.
According to CSP, troopers responded around 12:38 a.m. to a crash involving a pedestrian on I-25 just south of Mesa Ridge Parkway. When troopers arrived, they found that two cars had collided with a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of the interstate.
CSP said both drivers remained on scene after the crash. The pedestrian, a 23-year-old from Colorado Springs, was declared dead on scene. No other injuries were reported.
No charges have been filed in connection to the crash, CSP said, and the circumstances are still being investigated. The pedestrian will be identified by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office at a later time.
