CSPD: Armed robbery suspects disguised with face paint

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a call regarding a robbery in progress at a convenience store on Hancock, near Memorial Park, in which the robbers allegedly wore face paint to disguise themselves and claimed to be armed.

According to CSPD, on Monday, May 12, around 5 p.m., when officers arrived at the scene in the 300 block of South Hancock Avenue, near Pikes Peak Avenue, they learned that a Hispanic man and a white woman, who had disguised their faces with white and yellow face paint, gave the store attendant a note demanding money and items. Both suspects claimed to be armed.

CSPD reported that the suspects ran to a tan or gold colored minivan that was waiting and left the area with an undisclosed amount of cash and other merchandise. No injuries were reported.
