CSPD arrests suspect involved in multiple burglaries

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a suspect wanted for burglary on Wednesday, July 24.

On Tuesday afternoon, July 23, officers responded to a burglary at a home in the 1600 block of Shrider Road near East Woodmen Road and North Academy Boulevard. According to CSPD, photos and videos were immediately shared with the Burglary Unit.

The next morning, July 24, officers received information that property that had been stolen during the burglary was found in the 5900 block of Stetson Hills Boulevard off of North Powers Boulevard.

Detectives from the Burglary Unit and the Strategic Investigations Unit responded and located the suspect, Christopher Duplantier.

The suspect was also seen riding a motorcycle that had been reported stolen Wednesday morning. Detectives followed Duplantier to Stetson Hills Boulevard, where he was taken into custody. Evidence from two separate burglaries and two separate car thefts was recovered.

At the time of the arrest, Duplantier had an outstanding felony warrant and was charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.
