(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Saturday, June 15, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) investigated a carjacking, in which the victim was reportedly assaulted before his vehicle was stolen by an unknown suspect.
According to CSPD, the vehicle was located in the area of Pikes Peak Avenue and South Claremont Street, using a built-in tracking feature. As officers made contact with the vehicle, the suspect, Brandon Henn, allegedly attempted to drive off, but didn’t make it very far when he collided with a police cruiser and then a tree.
CSPD reports that he then attempted to run away on foot, but after a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody. Both the suspect and the victim suffered minor injuries, and the vehicle was returned to the victim.
