(COLORADO SPRINGS) — When officers responded to an injury crash on Saturday, June 28, they discovered that one of the people involved in the crash was allegedly involved in a shooting from four days earlier, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that around 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 5400 block of Constitution Avenue, near Powers Boulevard. During the investigation, officers learned that the driver of the vehicle that had allegedly caused the crash, Clea Jamerson, was connected to a shooting incident.
According to CSPD, on Tuesday, June 24, around 1 a.m., a vehicle was shot in the 5600 block of Palmer Park Boulevard, near Powers.
The police were able to develop probable cause, according to CSPD, and arrest Jamerson for the shooting. Several handguns were recovered from the vehicle that was involved in the crash, which was not the same vehicle that was involved in the shooting.
Another vehicle, which was believed to be the one involved in the shooting incident, was searched, and additional evidence tying it to the shooting was found.
