(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On the morning of Saturday, Aug. 24, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a report of a stabbing in the 3200 block of North Chestnut Street, near Fillmore and I-25.
According to CSPD, when officers arrived around 8:30 a.m., they learned that the stabbing occurred during a domestic violence incident, in which a man was stabbed several times. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is expected to recover.
The suspect, 31-year-old Hertminia Montoya-Balbastro, was found in the 4500 block of Barnes Road, near Austin Bluffs Parkway, and taken into custody, according to CSPD.
