(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Two people have been arrested after the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) discovered drugs and guns during a felony eluding investigation.
On Wednesday, April 9, patrol notified the Metro Narcotics Unit (MNU) of a felony eluding investigation, which involved a suspect who was actively being investigated by detectives. Patrol and MNU officers located the vacant vehicle at a nearby hotel and conducted static surveillance. The eluding suspect and an unknown woman exited a hotel and then got into the car.
Detectives conducted surveillance on the suspect’s vehicle until it was parked in the 100 block of South Cascade Avenue, near Colorado Avenue. A Tactical Enforcement Unit and K9 then assisted with contacting the vehicle.
MNU detectives searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia, hundreds of rounds in loaded magazines of various calibers, five rifles (including one ghost rifle), four pistols (two were stolen), 2,351.26 grams of fentanyl or approximately 23,500 pills, 14 grams of marijuana, 0.91 grams of LSD, 4.47 grams of Rx, 51.41 grams of heroin, 58.44 grams of cocaine, 411.89 grams of methamphetamine, and $14,296 in currency.
During a search of the suspect’s home located on the 4100 block of Hidden Circle, near N Carefree Circle, and recovered an additional 32.3 of meth, 13.5 of fentanyl, five firearms, 8.9 grams of cocaine and $2,266.
Both the woman and the man suspects were arrested and booked into the El Paso Criminal Justice Center on multiple counts of narcotics and weapons violations.
