(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a woman on various charges after a caller said she was acting erratically and she refused to exit the vehicle.
At around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, CSPD received a call from a concerned citizen in the 2500 block of Airport Road, near South Circle Drive. The caller said there was a woman who was yelling and screaming, acting erratically, and the caller felt the woman might be driving under the influence.
Officers located the vehicle on two separate occasions and attempted to stop it. The suspect tried to escape from the officers in the car and put others in danger, according to CSPD. At around 10:57 a.m., officers located the vehicle and the suspect in the main parking lot of Prospect Lake, near Prospect Lake Drive and Rio Grande Street.
CSPD said the suspect was told she was under arrest, and for more than an hour, officers gave the suspect orders to get out of the vehicle. The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Kimberly Nicholson, exited the vehicle and surrendered to officers at 12:23 p.m.
She was given immediate medical attention and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation. She will be charged with multiple crimes, including felony Vehicular Eluding, Reckless Driving, Obstruction, and Resisting Arrest.
