CSPD: Gunfire injures victim during robbery, carjacking

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Friday, June 13, officers responded to a robbery and carjacking that led to a shooting in which one person was injured on Uintah, near North 23rd Street.

According to CSPD, around 8:30 p.m., when officers arrived at the scene near Thorndale Park, they learned that the victim had been approached by multiple suspects. A struggle ensued, during which a gun was fired, injuring the victim.

CSPD reported that the suspects escaped the scene in the victim’s vehicle and a white minivan-style vehicle.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
