(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to reports of shots fired near East Platte Avenue and North Circle Drive on Saturday, July 27, around 6:30 p.m. The incident left one person dead.

According to CSPD, when officers responded to the 700 block of East Hills Road, they located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and proceeded to give aid until medical responders arrived. Despite all efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate the incident.
